Our victory was due to the assistance of the star-player.
I came late due to(最好用because of) the traffic jam.
Due to certain unforeseen circumstances, we didn’t start yesterday.(仅见于美国英语,此外均被认为是错误的)。
正:Owing to certain unforeseen circumstances, we didn’t start yesterday.

2. because of 只能引导状语。
We must not get discourage because of such a minor setback.

They decided to postpone the trip, owing to the change of weather.
They refused to give up the project merely because of the lack of skilled personnel.
且第一句中,owing to可放在句首,而第二句中because of则不能。

Thanks to your help, much trouble was saved. China’s national economy was on the brink of total collapse, thanks to the “revolutionary measures” of the Gang of Four.
